Iwate University is a national university with a Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Education, Science and Engineering, and Agriculture on one campus. Located conveniently in the center of Morioka, Iwate, you will enjoy easy access to major social services as well as the metropolitan area. It has yet lower cost of living than major cities and is yet only 2 hours by Shinkansen to Tokyo. About 200 international students (23 countries) are enrolled and students from different faculties participate in frequent international events to broaden their global horizons and cultivate the qualities of future leaders. Students and faculty members are close, and the university as a whole is characterized by a large family-like atmosphere. International co-education is also conducted for international and local students to study together. You can live a fulfilling university life in a safe and secure environment.

Support Center
There are 6 levels of Japanese language classes to support your needs and staff can speak English, Chinese and Korean. There are 87 dormitories and the International House is exclusively for international students. In addition, we allocate a tutor for individual international student to support their daily and academic life.

I originally attended a Japanese language school in Iwate Prefecture. Iwate is a really easy place to live. At Iwate University, my studies are focused on the internationalization of corporate management and administration.
